The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at National Cheng Kung University is recruiting teachers for two full-time tenure-tracked positions starting from the fall semester of 2011.

Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in English-related fields with a research focus on one of the following areas of specialization:
1. British/American or comparative Literature
2. Linguistics or English teaching expertise, preferably with phonetics and phonology specialty.
Note: 1. Applicants with a certificate of assistant professorship (or above) issued by the Ministry of Education, R. O. C. are preferred.
2. Applicants with teaching experience in the disciplines concerned at a college or a university are preferred.

In addition to graduate courses, the newly employed teachers are obliged to teach undergraduate courses such as English conversation, English composition, literature survey courses or Introduction to Phonetics, etc.

3. A photocopy of the Teacher’s certificate issued by the M.O.E. , ROC (if any);
4. Three letters of recommendation;
5. Proof of previous academic employment (if applicable);
6. A list of publications;
7. A photocopy of doctoral dissertation and representative publication(s);
8. Sample course outlines/syllabi and a list of courses offered;
9. Other relevant supporting materials (if any).

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed or invited to give a talk (on-line interview or lecturing can be arranged).
