2010 Gold Scholarship for Chinese Learning
為配合教育部推動台灣華語教學政策，並加強國際宣傳，國立成功大學文學院華語中心提供「暑期外籍新生推薦入學獎學金」，期能藉以招收優秀外籍學生到成功大學學習華語。
In accordance with the Ministry of Education’s effort to increase Mandarin Chinese learning among international students, the Chinese Language Center at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan will be offering a special scholarship for the 2010 Summer Session. Additional information can be found below:
1. 獎學金名額與待遇：
1. 受獎名額：二名；另備取一名。
2. 獎 額：每名每月新台幣六千七百五十元。
3. 受獎期限：夏季班（2010年7月至8月，兩個月）。
4. 2010年開課時間：2010年7月5日至8月27日
5. 申請截止日期：2010年6月17日
Scholarship Details:
1. 2 scholarships recipients will be awarded. In addition to the regular scholarship quotas, we place 1 candidate on a waiting list in case a scholarship already awarded is nullified or revoked.
2. Stipend: NT$6,750/month.
3. Scholarship period is valid for 2010 Summer Session (July 5, 2010 to August 27, 2010， for two months)
4. Application Deadline: June 17th, 2010

申請條件與資格：
1. 非中華民國國籍
2. 首次就讀本中心之新生。
3. 需經就讀之外國大學教授(含華語教師)推薦。
4. 凡已受領教育部特設獎學金或我政府其他機關之獎學金者，不得申請。
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must be foreigners.
2. Must be new applicants.
3. Must have recommendation from professors/Chinese teachers of overseas universities and colleges which applicants are attending or have attended.
4. Students who have received the special scholarship from Ministry of Education or a scholarship from another ROC government agency may not apply for this scholarship.
三、 申請資料：
1. 就讀之外國大學教授(含華語教師)推薦函兩封。
2. 最近一期就讀之外國大學成績單。
3. 讀書計劃一份(一千字以內)。
4. 一般申請需備資料：
(1) 入學申請書兩份
(2) 兩吋的半身照片五張
(3 ) 護照之個人基本資料影本一張：包括照片、姓名、出生年月日、護照號碼等內容。
Application Requirements:
1. Two recommendation letters from applicants’ professors/Chinese teachers of overseas universities and colleges which applicants are attending or have attended.
2. Transcript of latest semester from the universities and college which applicants are attending or have attended.
3. One study plan of 1000 words or less, stating the intended Summer session.
4. General Admission requirements:
(1) Two completed application forms.
(2) Five passport photographs (2in x 2in).
(3) Photocopy of passport (first page only, must clearly show passport number, name, personal details and photograph).
四、 申請期限及相關事宜：
1. 符合申請資格者，請於截止日(6月17日)前繳齊應繳資料，逾期不受理。
2. 申請者可從海外直接申請。
3. 申請者不能如期前來辦理註冊繳費者，由備取者遞補。
4. 獎學金將按月發放。
Additional Information:
1. Applicants must submit all of the required documents by the application deadline (June 17th ). Late applications will not be accepted.
2. Applicants can apply directly from overseas.
3. Should recipients fail to attend their scheduled session, the scholarship will be revoked and awarded to the next runner-up.
4. Scholarships are distributed monthly to recipients.
五、 停發或註銷獎學金：
1. 停發：受獎期間，單月缺課逾十五小時以上，停發該月獎學金，如因不可抗力因素請假超過規定時數，得檢具事證。
2. 註銷：受獎期間，曠課時數超過該期六分之一、學業成績平均未達八十五分、行為表現不良、未經本中心同意無故離校者，註銷其受獎資格。
3. 受獎資格經註銷，其停發之獎金即由備取者代之。
Conditions for the Withholding or Revocation of Scholarships:
1. One month’s scholarship money will be withheld if a student is absent for more than 15 hours in one month without sufficient cause (except where there are circumstances beyond a student's control or a serious emergency has arisen for which the student has documented proof of occurrence).
2. Conditions under which scholarships may be revoked:
1. Student is absent for more than one sixth of a semester.
2. Students’ termly grade average is below 85 percent.
3. Student's behavior during class is unacceptable or inappropriate.
4. Student leaves the country without prior consent from the language center.
3. If a scholarship is withheld or revoked, the next runner-up will receive the remaining portion of the scholarship.
