In light of recent shifts in global population trends, the issue of an aging society has taken on paramount importance worldwide. Taiwan, in particular, is experiencing a rapid and alarming increase in its elder population. According to recent estimates from the National Development Council, Taiwan is on track to officially transition into a super-aged society, where the elder population exceeds 20%, by 2026. As the demographic balance tilts towards a greater number of children compared to older individuals, it has become imperative for all generations to acquire a profound understanding of the psychological changes that accompany the aging process. This presentation aims to illuminate the cognitive and physiological shifts associated with aging, drawing from psychological research and real-world examples. It will delve into the social behaviors and psychological adaptations of the elders, ultimately empowering the younger generation with strategies to effectively navigate the challenges posed by our aging society.
